Gary Mitchell
I’m lucky enough to have grown up in Mid Wales, went to school and college in Newtown and followed this on at College in Brecon before heading off to University in Leeds, where I lived and worked for 6 years before returning to Wales where I worked for the Brecon Beacons National Park for 3 years before running an Outdoor Education Centre in South Powys.
More recently I have moved with my young family to Staylittle and took a role within Open Newtown a few years ago as Project Manager – I have worked for Social Farms & Gardens alongside my other roles for around several years now.
I’m lucky to be able to draw on my experience of working with several community food & community land enterprises, which I have been involved in for over 10 years. I’m a director / trustee of a number of charities, both national and local which help me to understand my role as a PAVO trustee.
