Grants averaging £3,525 in 2023/24 and £4,567 in 2022/23 are available to registered charities working in England and Wales and/or overseas for a wide range of charitable causes. Charities working in the areas of animal welfare, cancer relief (including hospices), children and young people, health, medical causes and the elderly are regularly supported.

Fareham, Hampshire based the Annandale Charitable Trust is a discretionary grant-making Trust that supports a diverse range of charitable causes in England and Wales as well as the occasional grant for charities working overseas. The Trust has stated that it intends to continue providing grants in a similar way to the recent past whilst retaining flexibility as to the timing and scale of its grant making. The Trust has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.
The Trust’s grant-making history suggests that charities working in the following areas are more likely to receive a grant:
o Animal welfare.
o Cancer relief.
o Children.
o Health.
o Hospices.
o Medical, and
o Support for the elderly.
During the year ended 5th April 2024, the Trust awarded 122 grants totalling £430,040, representing an average award of £3,525 (2023: 45 grants totalling £205,491, with an average award of £4,567).
Details of all grants awarded during the year can be viewed on pages 15 and 16 of the Trust’s annual accounts. Charities with a national remit are frequently supported. Grants made can include several awards to the same organisation during the year.
