Overcoming barriers for women in the workplace

In this panel session to mark International Women’s Day we’ll hear from experts from the voluntary sector and beyond on how we can create a more equal Wales.
Join us to celebrate International Women’s Day on 4 March 2025 at Swansea Building Society Arena from 11 am – 1.30 pm. We will be hosting a panel discussion to explore some of the barriers women face in the workplace and how organisations can use best practice to ensure equality. The panel discussion will be followed by a networking lunch.
We’re delighted to have panellists from leading Women’s charities in Wales, BAWSO, WEN Wales and FTWW. Our panel members include;
- Fflur Jones, Managing Partner at Darwin Gray, who specialises in employment law
- Rachel Joseph, the 2022 winner of the Young Volunteer of the Year Award who volunteers for Fair Treatment for the Women of Wales (FTWW) raising awareness of endometriosis and female health inequalities
- Dr Jessica Laimann, Policy and Public Affairs Manager at Women’s Equality Network Cymru (WEN) who leads on WEN’s policy work, driving change that delivers equal opportunity and authority for all women in Wales
- Daisy Namuddu, the Locality Manager for South West Wales and Jumana Mohamed, Senior Support Worker BME Specialist at BAWSO
- Nerys Evans, former MS and Director of Cavendish Cymru who is also a mentor in the Mentor Mums scheme
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone working and volunteering in the voluntary sector or working with the voluntary sector to come together and discuss how we can help create more accessible and empowering workplaces.
