Bevan Commission “Let’s Not Waste” Final Report
The final report from the Bevan Commission’s ‘Let’s Not Waste’ programme is now available. This two-year initiative, supported by the Welsh Government, built on the findings of What a Waste!, which identified six key areas of waste, estimated to account for 20-30% of total health and care resources.
The report highlights how the programme raised awareness and engaged stakeholders in waste reduction through:
✔️ Identifying and promoting case studies
✔️ Hosting masterclasses and events
✔️ Developing toolkits and key programmes
✔️ Reviewing and analysing waste data
Several key recommendations have been outlined, including the need to sustain momentum, build on progress, and fully utilise new developments to enhance efficiency and productivity in health and care.
Further collaboration, innovation, and incentives will be essential in reducing waste across the sector.
