ABBVIE LTD: UK GRANT PROGRAMME
Grants of up to £10,000 are available for health, science, learning and community-based projects carried out by UK Healthcare Organisations or Charitable Institutions.

AbbVie Limited provides grants to organisations and charitable institutions in the UK healthcare sector in the areas of:
o Community-based projects.
o Health.
o Learning, and
o Science.
AbbVie grants are for up to £10,000. Requests for a grant of over £10,000 are automatically rejected. Grants can be used to support a diversity of projects.
The following types of organisation may apply for grant support:
o Healthcare Organisations: healthcare, medical or scientific association or organisation such as a hospital, clinic, foundation, university or other teaching institution or learned society whose business address, place of incorporation or primary place of operation is in Europe or an organisation through which one or more health professionals or other relevant decision makers provide services.
o Charitable Institutions: any not-for-profit institution which does not fulfil the definition of a healthcare organisation.
o Patient Organisations: not-for-profit organisations (including the umbrella organisations to which they belong), mainly composed of patients and/or caregivers, that represent and/or support the needs of patients, their families and/or caregivers.
Project proposals from healthcare organisations must be able to demonstrate how the funding will either advance medical education or science, or contribute to improvements in the quality of healthcare/patient care.
Funding is not available for:
o Requests over the maximum award level of £10,000.
o Funding requests that are for projects/initiatives outside of the UK.
o If funding has been received in the last two years.
o Requests for medical equipment or general support for an NHS organisation.
o Medical education events or symposia aimed professional audiences (ones intended for patients should sit outside of this).
o Requests to support projects and initiatives with a clinical focus outside of Abbvie’s core therapeutic areas.
o Funding for salary and core operating costs are not permitted. Applications should benefit an institution or group of individuals, not an individual only, or
o Incomplete application forms

Please note that applications are reviewed from February to October only. Any application received following the 30th September cut-off will be reviewed the following year if applicable.
Deadlines for 2025 applications to be submitted are:
o Friday 31st January.
o Wednesday 30th April.
o Thursday 31st July, and
o Tuesday 30th September.
The next deadline for applications is therefore on Friday 31st January 2025.
