5k your way Brecon

Improving the Cancer Journey in Powys (ICJ) is working with national charity Move Against Cancer whose vision is for every person impacted by cancer to feel supported and empowered to live an active, fulfilling life.

One of the charity’s initiatives is 5K Your Way (5KYW) which are cancer support groups attached to existing parkrun events. The support group provides an opportunity for anyone impacted by cancer to walk, jog, run, cheer or volunteer and connect with other people who may be living with, or affected by, cancer.

There are currently two 5KYW locations in Powys Groe, Builth Wells and Newtown with work underway to launch a third location at Y Promenad parkrun in Brecon. For the launch in Brecon to happen we need volunteers.

Can you help?

Being a volunteer would involve attending and promoting the group which takes place on the last Saturday of every month, acting as a point of contact for participants and making participants feel supported. To share the commitment, Move Against Cancer are looking for at least five supporters per location.
