Numeracy 3 - Making a Difference in Powys

‘Numeracy 3 - Making a Difference in Powys’ is a grant scheme that PAVO is
administering. It is part of the £150,000 in ‘multiply funding’ which is also funding the
Numeracy 2 grant scheme. Funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund,
supported by Powys County Council.

ENG - Numeracy Fund 3

Third Sector Organisations and Powys Town and Community Councils can apply to:
- deliver numeracy improvement sessions or their own numeracy projects.
- receive up to £4,000.
Sessions / Projects:
● Can be delivered by anyone who is confident and competent in basic maths.
● Can use question sheets from PAVO and/or your own materials.
● Can include board games or scoring (in games / matches).
● Must improve basic numeracy confidence and skills in people aged 19 and over
(though children can attend too).
● Must be held by 30th November 2024.

You can:
● Apply now, until 10th October 2024.
● Know if your application is successful within 3 weeks of applying.
● Hold more sessions by applying for the Numeracy 2 grant too. Numeracy 2

Your sessions / projects could include:
● Using numbers to raise awareness of what your group is trying to achieve.
● People who use your services feeling more confident about everyday sums.
● Working out, when shopping, which item is the best value.
● Learning addition / multiplication through games.
● Children, if attending with adults who are also learning (this fund is primarily
for adult learning).
