Myra Francis
Myra Frances has been involved in voluntary work all her life, an activity inherited from her parents, from local charities to larger world wide ones e.g. British Red Cross. Myra was born in Machynlleth and therefore understands there are many issues, including rurality and isolation, poor transport and funding is a big issue for all Charities / groups therefore the 3rd Sector is so important. Myra has previously been on the board of PAVO and was honoured to hold both the position of Chair and President. Myra is a volunteer with LLAIS, and chair of Machynlleth League of Friends. Myra helped establish CAMAD (Community Action Machynlleth & District) and was appointed their 1st Project Manager and then became Area Manager for Domiciliary Care with Ceredigion County Council until taking voluntary redundancy due to restructuring. Myra then became a Receptionist at Glantwymyn GP Practice and then an Administrator at Dyfi Valley Health. Myra is now retired and feels she can contribute to PAVO, her previous experiences in work and volunteering helps her to understand the importance of the 3rd Sector and to have a voice.
