Free EDI guide published as trustees report facing barriers to progress

A new survey by the Association of Chairs (AoC) shows that two in five charity board members face challenges in implementing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) strategies.

While 50% of respondents are enthusiastic about EDI, only 29% feel confident in applying it.

The AoC’s newly launched EDI guide offers practical advice, including diversifying recruitment and using inclusive language in job postings.

AoC Chair Joe Saxton stressed the importance of nonprofits reflecting society’s diversity.

The AoC also updated its “Chair’s Compass” guide to help boards tackle current financial and leadership challenges.
