New Peatland Restoration GRANT

This competitive grant was launched by the Wales Peatland Action Programme on 18/12/2024 with the deadline for applications on 18/3/2025.

Peatland Restoration Grant

• The new Peatland Restoration Grant was launched 18/12/2024 and closes at midnight 18/3/2025.
• Around £700,000 of funding is available to be distributed as £10K-£250K grants to individuals and organisations for peatland restoration.

• The Peatland Restoration Grant is new in that it combines the function of the former Development and Delivery grants. Both former grants proved successful but this new grant offers partners greater flexibility if they choose to move seamlessly from the planning phase to the shovel-ready delivery phase.
• The successful projects must be completed by 31/3/2026.
• All details and the application process can be accessed through the Wales Peatland Action Programme web page.
• Webinars to explain the application process will be held on Teams on 6/2/2025 (9:30am-10:30am in English and 11:00am-12:00noon in Welsh) with registration in Welsh and English.
• A recording of the webinars will be uploaded for on-going reference.
• The grants are funded by NRW / NPAP who recieve funding from Welsh Government.
• NRW’s National Peatland Action Programme has a strategic role to expand Wales’ peatland action through partners.
