Highlights from the Newtown Locality Network Meeting

The Newtown Locality Network meeting took place on 10th December at Hope Church, offering a fantastic opportunity for networking among third-sector groups and sharing key updates about funding opportunities and projects supporting local communities.

Key Highlights

  • Together for Change shared insights about their Local Policy and Innovation Partnership (LPIP). This initiative includes a fund designed to research gaps in services and resources within local towns to identify what’s needed most. Volunteer researchers can receive £25 per hour through this fund, ensuring local voices are heard in shaping solutions.
  • Social Value Forum Fund – Presented by Louise Hardwick, this fund has supported 103 organisations since 2020, awarding just over £1 million to projects that help keep adults and children well by providing grassroots support to those who need it most.
  • Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) attended and shared their Medicine Cabinet leaflets, emphasizing the importance of stocking up on essential medicines—like paracetamol, plasters, and cough remedies—particularly during the festive season when pharmacies may be closed.
