Warm Spaces Funding

Powys Council has been awarded funding to support Warm Spaces for 2024/25.

Funding can be utilised to establish / re-establish spaces and add value to those that are already in place supporting the economic, social and well-being of residents of Powys.

It is expected that the funding will support spaces where individuals are provided with a welcoming, accessible, safe and warm environment. These will be more than just warm spaces for individuals to attend. They will be an inviting place to be and will be open and inclusive and available for all in the community to use. The focus will be on identifying and delivering to local need and delivering a response which delivers to that need.

Providers of safe and warm places might include:

  • basic refreshments and snacks (as a minimum) but may extend to provision of a more substantive meal where possible.
  • the provision of advice and support services to those who attend, this can be for example advice and support on financial matters, health and well-being or digital accessibility.
  • further enrichment activity such as exercise, arts or cultural activity (subject to location and availability).

Successful applicants will be required to report on the location and type of safe and warm places supported, the number of individuals attending the safe and warm places and provide a narrative on the type of activity / support provided. Applicants should ensure that any funded spaces are appropriately and adequately promoted and that case studies are made available for national promotional material.
