HELP THE HOMELESS GRANTS

Capital grants of up to £5,000 are available for projects that help homeless people rebuild their lives and move towards a return to mainstream society.

Help the Homeless provides financial support for hostels, drop-in centres and similar services that are working to help homeless people rebuild their lives and return to society through training or residential facility provision. Please note that grants are for capital projects only and are not awarded for projects that merely offer shelter – projects must help individuals move towards a return to mainstream society.

UK registered charities with an annual turnover of less than £1 million may apply for a capital grant of up to £5,000. There is no matched funding requirement.

Help the Homeless normally awards between 15 and 20 grants totalling around £50,000 each year.

Several examples of recent grant awards are available on the Charity’s website.

Funding is not available for:

o Computers and IT equipment.
o Core costs.
o Individuals, 
or
o Revenue projects.

Applicants requiring funding for building work and refurbishment are advised to contact CRASH, a charity helping homelessness charities and hospices with vital construction projects.

The next application deadline is Sunday 15th December 2024. Application deadlines for 2025 are scheduled for:

o Saturday 15th March.
o Sunday 15th June.
o Monday 15th September,
 and
o Monday 15th December.

Decisions are normally relayed to applicants within 6 weeks of each application deadline.
