Hafren Dyfrdwy Community Fund
Hafren Dyfrdwy Community Fund: applications are now open!
I have some exciting news to share with you – our Community Fund is back for another year, with a further £50,000 to award in our communities and a continued focus on offering support with core costs.
You may remember that last year we re-focused our funding to give support with day-to-day costs, to help groups in our region that were facing increasingly challenging times due to the cost of living crisis. With many charities and groups still feeling the impact, this year the Fund has another £50,000 to help cover core costs for groups within the Hafren Dyfrdwy region.
Our criteria
This funding is for groups that deliver a vital service for local residents and are finding it hard to maintain their current activities.
Groups can apply to be considered for a restricted grant of between £2,000 – £10,000 for 1 year, to help them to continue delivering their vital services to our communities.
This support will be available to not-for-profit organisations in the Hafren Dyfrdwy region that:
- deliver a vital service for local residents, and improve wider community wellbeing, especially supporting those most vulnerable;
- have been operating for 12 months or more (and have at least one set of formal accounts);
- have an annual income of £250,000 or less (based on last year’s accounts).
If an organisation is faith based, they are eligible to apply as long as the request is for community work e.g. food banks or warm hubs. We cannot fund the practice of religion, or any activities that actively promote religion or particular belief systems.
Sports groups, Scouts, Girl Guides, Cadets or statutory bodies are not eligible for this stream.
Applications are now open and will be open until the funding has been awarded.
We anticipate demand for our support to be high, so whilst we’d love to, unfortunately we won’t be able to fund every application we receive.
Our full eligibility criteria and details on how to apply can be found at www.hdcymru.co.uk/communityfund
