Join Severn Wye for the Launch of Essential Energy Support Services in Powys

You are warmly invited to the launch of an important and ambitious new service that will bring community-based energy advice and support to vulnerable clients in Powys.

Designed to reach those ‘slipping through the net’ of conventional fuel poverty support, the service will be reaching out to ‘at risk’ communities and groups. Our focus will be on working with rural communities, refugees and asylum seekers, houseboat communities and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.  Support and advice will be provided through face-to-face meetings, home visits, events and drop-ins, and classroom sessions. The two-year project is funded by Wales and West Utilities and Cadent as part of the Vulnerability and Carbon Monoxide Allowance (VCMA) funding programme.

For front-line staff and volunteers in the third and public sectors, it is often impossible to help people with fuel poverty and energy use, either because of the complexity of the energy issues, or a lack of time and resources. Severn Wye will work with new and existing partners across Powys, to identify at-risk communities and groups who will most benefit from support, which will include:

– Priority Service Registration

– Carbon monoxide advice

– Trust fund applications

– Resolving meter problems

– Liaising with suppliers and setting up repayment plans

Please join us to find out how we can work together to support these communities. We also provide front-line professionals with awareness training on how to spot the signs of fuel poverty – find out more on the day. There will be plenty of opportunity to network over coffee and biscuits, find out more about Severn Wye services and discuss how we can work together to reach out and help some of the most vulnerable clients in our region.

We look forward to welcoming you:
