The Whitegates Children’s Trust is a small grant-making charity that awards a limited number of grants each year. The Trust was founded in 1969 as the Tutnal Children’s Home and is now more commonly known as ‘Whitegates’.
The charitable objectives of the Trust are:
1) The relief of young persons, including former beneficiaries of Tutnal Children’s Home, who through poverty, deprivation or abuse, are in conditions of need, hardship or distress, and
2) To promote the education of such young persons in such ways as the trustees shall think fit.
During the year ended 5th April 2023, the Trust awarded 7 grants totalling £27,000 (2022: 5 grants totalling £19,500).
Grants made ranged from £2,000 to £7,000 (2022: £500 to £10,000) and were made to UK charities working in the UK and/or overseas.
A list of all grants awarded during the last two years is provided on page 9 of the Trust’s annual accounts.
Please note that the Trust does not have a website. Further information is, however, available on the Charity Commission website.
Applications may be made at any time in writing. The Trust’s address for correspondence is:
