Farming Fit
Farming Fit is an exciting new outreach programme designed to support the specific health and social wellbeing needs of farming communities in Powys.
Monthly from August to December 2024, healthcare professionals, Powys County Council staff, and members of the voluntary sector will visit livestock markets in Welshpool, Brecon, and Builth Wells They will offer free health screenings, information, advice and support through an accessible outreach service, nurturing stronger farm businesses and healthier farming communities.
The project launched on 23rd July at the 2024 Royal Welsh Agricultural Show in Llanelwedd – taking place from Monday 22nd – Thursday 25th July – and is delivered in partnership between Powys County Council, Powys Teaching Health Board, and Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations (PAVO).
