THE BENINDI FUND
Micro-grants and medium sized grants are available to charities working in the UK and/or overseas in the areas of animal welfare, conservation, the environment and heritage.

The Benindi Fund was previously known as the Robin Russell Charity. Robin Russell (21 January 1940 – 13 June 2003) was the 14th Duke of Bedford. He was a British peer, stockbroker and animal conservationist who became well known to the public by appearing in three series of the BBC reality TV programme Country House.
While primarily a supporter of animal and conservation causes, the Fund provides very small to medium sized grants to charities working in the UK and/or overseas in the following areas:
o Animal welfare.
o Conservation.
o Environment, and
o Heritage.
As a general rule donations are not made to major national charities although a relevant local branch activity may be supported.
The last available accounts on the Charity Commission website are for the year ended 5th April 2022. During the year the Fund’s donations were mainly directed towards wildlife, animal and conservation focused organisations.
Grants and donations were made to 90 institutions totalling £193,675 (2021: 99 grants totalling £183,399). Awards ranged from just £41 to £47,500 to the Whitley Fund for Nature. Interestingly, quite a number of non-profits in America were funded during the year.
